Special Guest: Olympian Kacey Bellamy
We will have a special addition to camp this year-Three-time Women's Ice Hockey Olympian, Kacey Bellamy, will be giving a talk to us over Zoom during one of our chalk talks! Kacey won an Olympic Gold medal in 2018 and Silver in 2014 and 2010. She also won eight World Championship Gold medals and two silvers. Westfield, Massachusetts is her hometown, and she attended nearby Berkshire School before playing four years of hockey for the University of New Hampshire.
She will talk about her life experiences with hockey, but she will also talk about motivation and fitness as it relates to older female athletes. We are so excited about this opportunity, and so is Kacey. She loves the idea of our camp being geared towards adult women playing hockey.
"At any age, the opportunity to embrace, learn, and improve one’s hockey skills is a gift. I'm excited to come back to my hometown and support Kay’s mission with Dynamic Women's Hockey. Everyone should have the chance play this beautiful game. It's never too late to pursue your passion on the ice." - Kacey Bellamy
About 2024 Camp
This intensive three-day camp allows players lots of time to work on individual skills, receive individualized video feedback from a coach, and benefit from small coach to player ratios.
Who Can Participate
Camp is open to women ages 18 and up of all abilities and focuses on the fundamentals of hockey. Camp is limited to 22 skaters and 4 goalies. The Dynamic Women’s Hockey Camp is for every player who wants to improve their skills – including skating, shooting, passing and stickhandling. We group participants according to ability so that everyone is challenged accordingly.
Coaches
The all-female coaching staff is made up of women who have played and coached hockey at a variety of levels for many years. The staff is led by Kay Cowperthwait, founder of Dynamic Women’s Hockey School, and includes coaches for every position – forward, defense, and YES! - a dedicated goalie coach.
